Our Team

Sarah brings over 25 years of philanthropic advisory experience, having guided the distribution of more than $250 million in giving. She specializes in deepening connections among multi-generational families, spouses, and philanthropic partners while navigating complex giving strategies. Prior to founding Sound Philanthropy, Sarah served as Vice President of Philanthropic Services at Seattle Foundation, where she led high-touch donor services and quality implementation. In 2022, she founded the Racial Equity Action Community (REAC), a learning community reimagining how cross-racial groups can uplift racial justice through philanthropy. She currently serves on the board of the Lorna Jordan Foundation. When not expanding her heart and mind as a philanthropic advisor, she’s loving on her three kids, husband, and dog, or planning her next travel adventure.

Stephen brings 25 years of nonprofit operations experience, specializing in administration, information technology, and client support systems. He joined Sound Philanthropy in June 2023, bringing operational expertise that ensures seamless client experiences and efficient organizational infrastructure. His background runs the gamut from fundraising and assembling a computer lab for an after-school program to program operations, technology implementation, and community-centered service delivery in a variety of nonprofit settings. His career path has always intersected with racial reconciliation and growth as a white man. Outside of work, he, his spouse, and their young son love finding new parks and exploring everything Washington has to offer.

Tony specializes in strategic planning and governance for high-impact organizations, stewarding over $300 million in philanthropic investments across the Western U.S. He brings CEO-level experience from the John & Margot Lane Foundation and Bloom Foundation, where he launched strategies leveraging philanthropic capital for community change. Tony co-founded Atlas Preparatory School, now serving 1,300+ students, and founded Spur Philanthropy, a collective impact model helping foundations deploy innovative tools to maximize impact. He has served on multiple boards, including as former board chair of Pikes Peak Community Foundation and current board member of the Sachs Foundation. Outside of work, Tony is focused on raising two young sons with his wife, and continues to pursue his lifelong commitment to sports and healthy living.

Nora supports the operational infrastructure of mission-driven philanthropies and nonprofits. Her experience spans director of business operations for a national philanthropic consulting firm, philanthropic advising with a major community foundation, and operations with a nationally-ranked wealth advisory firm. She brings expertise in project management, business operations, and systems design that enable philanthropic organizations to scale their impact effectively. In her free time, Nora has served on the board of directors for a foster youth advocacy organization and mentored foster youth as a court-appointed special advocate. She enjoys running and cooking, not always in that order.

Rosa guides grantmaking strategies that direct resources toward community-led organizations advancing racial justice and equity. She brings over seven years of foundation experience from Inatai Foundation, where she managed community engagement and board governance while supporting community-based organizations across Washington State. Her approach centers abundant, flexible, and sustained support for organizations building transformative change. Rosa’s commitments to justice are rooted in growing up in a mixed-race, multicultural, and multilingual family. She learned early about the power of storytelling to heal, build community, and advance justice. She’s a proud resident of Skyway and enjoys going for walks, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
